How to Care for Your Sutra Silk Product
Sutra Silk Pillowcases & Bolster Cases (Adults & Baby)
Machine Washing (Top & Front Load)
- Flip silk pillowcase and/or bolster case inside out.
- Place silk pillowcase and/or bolster case in a laundry mesh bag to avoid abrasive damage.
- Select delicate wash option. Fill washing machine with water ≤30℃.
- Add adequate amount* of pH neutral liquid detergent.
Hand Washing
- Fill basin with water ≤30℃.
- Add adequate amount* of pH neutral liquid detergent.
- Flip silk pillowcase and/or bolster case inside out.
- Place silk product into the basin and soak for 10 minutes.
- Gently swish the silk product through the water. Do not scrub or rub.
- Discard sudsy water and fill basin with clean water. Gently rinse the silk product. Repeat until clean.
- Remove silk product from water.
*refer to instructions provided on the detergent bottle.
Drying
- Drip dry or gently press a piece of clean towel on the silk product to absorb excess water.
- Place/Hang silk on clean flat surface or rod to dry under shade.
- Avoid using clothes peg as they can form undesirable marks.
Sutra Silk Bedding
Machine Washing (Top & Front Load)
- Flip silk duvet cover inside out.Â
- Place silk bedsheet and duvet cover in separate large laundry mesh bag to avoid abrasive damage.
- Select delicate wash option. Fill washing machine with water ≤30℃.
- Add adequate amount* of pH neutral liquid detergent.
Hand Washing
- We do not recommend hand washing your silk bedsheet and duvet cover as it will take up enormous energy and resources to achieve a clean and fresh silk bedsheet and duvet cover.

Drying
- Drip dry or gently press a piece of clean towel on the silk product to absorb excess water.
- Place/Hang silk on clean flat surface or rod to dry under shade.
- Avoid using clothes peg as they can form undesirable marks.
Sutra Silk Bonnet & Masks
Machine Washing (Top & Front Load)
- Flip silk bonnet inside out.Â
- Place silk bonnet in a laundry mesh bag to avoid abrasive damage.
- Select delicate wash option. Fill washing machine with water ≤30℃.
- Add adequate amount* of pH neutral liquid detergent.
Hand Washing
- Fill basin with water ≤30℃.
- Add adequate amount* of pH neutral liquid detergent.
- Flip silk bonnet inside out.Â
- Place silk bonnet into the basin and soak for 10 minutes.
- Gently swish the silk bonnet through the water. Do not scrub or rub.
- Discard sudsy water and fill basin with clean water. Gently rinse the silk bonnet. Repeat until clean.
- Remove silk bonnet from water.

- Place/Hang silk bonnet on clean flat surface or rod to dry under shade.

Sutra Silk Hair Scrunchies, Eye Masks & Everything Else
Machine Washing (Top & Front Load)
- Flip silk product inside out. For silk hair scrunchies and eye masks, you may skip this part.
- Place silk product in a laundry mesh bag to avoid abrasive damage.
- Select delicate wash option. Fill washing machine with water ≤30℃.
- Add adequate amount* of pH neutral liquid detergent.
Hand Washing
- Fill basin with water ≤30℃.
- Add adequate amount* of pH neutral liquid detergent.
- Flip silk product inside out. For silk hair scrunchies and eye masks, you may skip this part.
- Place silk product into the basin and soak for 10 minutes.
- Gently swish the silk product through the water. Do not scrub or rub.

Additional Tips & Guide
Detergent (Top, Front Load, or Hand Wash)
Use a delicate detergent to wash your Sutra Silk products. One example is the TLC Delicate Wash detergent.
Important Washing Care
- Wash silk products separately from heavy fabric items (e.g. jeans).
- Wash dark and light colours separately.
- Avoid alkaline-based and/or acidic detergent. Preferably, use liquid detergent for delicates.
- Do not bleach silk product.
- Do not scrub, brush, rub, twist or apply friction on the silk product especially when it is wet.
Drying
- Do not tumble dry silk product in washing/dryer machine.
- Do not wring silk product.
Ironing
- Flip silk product inside out, where possible (e.g. pillowcase, bolster case, bonnet, garments etc).
- Iron your silk at low temperature (most electronic irons have a silk setting).
- To smoothen out wrinkles easily, iron whilst damp (inside out, at low temperature).
- Iron on dull side of silk product, where possible.
- Ironing helps to soften silk products in the event they harden after washing.
